WB-UK Championship I
at Weston Jets
On the 20th July 2019 we kicked started Women in Baseball Week a day early at the Weston Jets Baseball Club, Hutton Moor Leisure Centre. 22 female players from 16 different teams across the UK and France took part in the first WB-UK Women's Baseball Championship Game.
We was delighted and honoured to have Weston-Super-Mare Mayor Mark Canniford throw the ceremonial first pitch which was caught by SWBL's Neale Raleigh, a dedicated supporter for WB-UK and key member for this historic event.
The Championship witnessed some great action at Robson Field from players from across the UK. Kelly Wright, Laura Bailes, Holly Barker, Tsz Yan Chan and Jessie Mae Ryan are just a handful of players who shined throughout the day. There was plenty of exciting plays, many stolen bases, a smashing home run by Kate Winfield and even a broken bat by Adéla Koubová!
